US property market "looking rosier"

British professionals moving to America have been told that the outlook of the US property market is starting to look “rosier”.
According to Mayfair International Realty, which represents over 125 real estate brokerages, the “affordable” end of the market is beginning to pick up.
“Most of our firms are reporting that inventory levels – the number of houses on the market – are down and sales are up,” explained Annette Reeve, director of Mayfair International Realty.
“This would mean that the things that are coming on the market are selling quite quickly, and the things that have been on the market for a while are now being snapped up.”
In terms of the “luxury” end of the market, which Ms Reeve defined as properties over $5 million (approximately £3.2 million), things are taking longer to settle.
However, this isn’t atypical to global trends, the expert added, as the UK’s higher-end property market is not selling properties as quickly as some homeowners would like.
