The SES Cadogan Tate Explorer Award

Cadogan Tate is once again proud to announce its support of the SES Explorer Awards, with The SES Cadogan Tate Explorer Award. The award of £2,000 is designed to support 2 expeditions that focus on the advancement of conservation, and preservation of our planet, and take place within under-developed regions of the world.
The recipients of The SES Cadogan Tate Explorer Award 2015 have been selected and will be announced on Tuesday 5th May at the Park Tower Hotel London. The awards will see Sir Ranulph Fiennes, Honorary Vice President of the SES, Neville Shulman CBE, explorer and author, Pen Hadow, Arctic Explorer, Andrew Mitchell, Chairman of the SES, and rainforest advocate, and Col John Blashford Snell, present the SES Explorer Awards to their successors, the rising stars of scientific exploration.
The significant strength and depth of the 2014 entries encouraged Cadogan Tate to extend the original award to be able to equally support two entrants in 2015.
The winners of the SES Cadogan Tate Explorer Award 2014 were Matthew Jasinki for The Mesoamerican Barrier Reef Expedition and Olivia Taylor for The Cambridge Zanskar Expedition.
Matthew’s expedition concentrated on the study of biodiversity and conservation of the World’s second largest barrier reef off the coast of Belize, Central America with the aim of significantly contributing to the understanding and future management of the reef and helping the preservation of reefs worldwide.
Olivia took part in a cross-disciplinary study on the impact of climate change, as part of a Cambridge University expedition to Zanskar Valley, Ladakh, northern India.
