New website aimed at foreign entrepreneurs launched

International movers heading to America will be able to benefit from a new online resource centre that has just been launched by US Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS).
Entrepreneur Pathways has been designed to assist professional expats keen on developing a business in the US with all areas of the immigration process, boosting their ability to contribute to the country’s economy, as well as their own successes.
“Through our innovative Entrepreneurs in Residence initiative, we are working to realise our current immigration system’s full potential to attract and retain start-up enterprises that promote innovation and spur job creation in America,” explained its director Alejandro Mayorkas.
“The first phase has already led to unique improvements in our programs and enabled us to better serve immigrant entrepreneurs.”
USCIS values the contribution that foreigners can make to the country, highlighting that historically, America has always attracted “individuals with great drive and entrepreneurial spirit”.
This is more important than ever. Though it may be the world’s biggest economic force, this in itself is a weakness – it takes longer to put back together something so complex and vast. To speed this up, attracting talent from overseas is a must.
“The United States must continue to welcome and retain the next generation of foreign entrepreneurs who will start new businesses and create new jobs here in America,” USCIS urges.
It really is a useful source. There are two main pages to navigate: Getting Started and Visa Guide. The latter gives an overview of the numerous ways an entrepreneur can start a new business in the US, while the former provides an exhaustive overview of the immigration process.
