Moving to Cyprus

Planning your move to Cyprus will depend on whether you are planning on moving to Southern Cyprus or Northern Cyprus. If you are moving to Southern Cyprus your move will be straight-forward as it is within the EU and there will be no customs clearance required. In addition the movement of pets and cars is relatively simple as long as all your paperwork is up-to-date however because transporting pets is a very specialist area, each requirement is unique and therefore has to be dealt with individually, and you will need to bear in mind that all motor vehicles are subject to special attention in terms of Customs Duty as well as Goods and Service Tax (GST) in some cases. Moving your belongings to Northern Cyprus will require more planning. You will need to consider Customs duty payments on your belongings however duty should not be liable if the effects have been owned for more than one year.
