A Big Move
Mr & Mrs Client needed to move to Mauritius. Because of the size of the move we planned two working weeks for packing and loading into two 40 foot containers. Shippers only had a one week window for packing due to commitments outside the UK, so two Cadogan Tate crews were booked to complete the packing task within one week as specified.
The shipment was successfully delivered to Mauritius, however the container trucks could not access the mountainside residence, so the local crews worked long hours to shuttle all the effects to the house carefully by hand.
A Hi Fi Move
Not only was the shipment volume enough to fill three shipping containers to New Zealand, our client had a fully wired sound & entertainment system in the house which included mixing desks, sound processing equipment and miles of gold plated cabling hidden in the walls.
We supplied the specialists to disassemble the system, while Cadogan Tate crews packed each delicate piece of equipment and cable. Wooden crates with foam interiors were constructed to carry the components. 125 crates were used in this shipment. All the equipment arrive safely at destination.
A Celebrity Move
Moving effects from their Los Angeles home to the West Country, this Celebrity family was in safe hands with Cadogan Tate. As with all moves Cadogan Tate appoint a move manager to oversee each move that we conduct. This ensures an efficient and trouble free transition for all parties concerned.
Obviously with this type of move there is an element of excitement however all our services are performed to the best of our ability for all shippers.
European Moves
Our client was moving from London to Hornbaek, Denmark and had a large volume of 102 cubic meters. A road train and a rigid truck were used. With local assistance, we delivered to a new residential development on the north Denmark coast. Great care was required as the destination was a brand new apartment. Everything was delivered in good order to the clients' requirements.
A Countess was moving from London to Genoa. Due to access in Genoa (the residence was an apartment in an old palace on the waterfront) a local company was sourced to provide trans-shipment services. Permissions were obtained from the local police to access the property which not only had poor access but was in a pedestrian area. Vehicles are not normally permitted to access this area, but the necessary arrangements were made to ensure that the delivery could take place to the clients satisfaction… And the satisfaction of the local authorities!
Lady Z was moving from London to Lausanne in Switzerland with a volume of 132 cubic metres! Two road trains were used, running out and clearing customs together. Lady Z purchased a villa with her brother, whose goods were bought from Paris to the UK before the entire consignment went as one shipment to Switzerland. As this was a combined shipment, our crew had to ensure that the separate parts of the shipment were identified and listed so that upon delivery to the property each item could be placed in the different parts of the estate that Lady Z and her brother were occupying. A Swiss agent was used to provide additional assistance with the delivery. The whole operation was a great success.
