Moving is Good for You!
A famous old Irish family was moving from a stately home in the centre of Dublin. The contents of the home were divided up in to seven destinations. A crew of 6 men were flown to Dublin and spent three weeks packing and casing the contents of the home. One furniture van was loaded every day in weeks 2 and 3 and sent back to England. Local electricians, case makers, stone masons were sourced locally. Chandelier specialists were flown from London to dismantle the 6 chandeliers. These were installed and re-assembled in Sussex after two years of storage.
A Grand Piano from the 9th Floor
A move from a South Kensington 9th floor apartment included 8 cased items, one of them a grand piano. Part of the fabric of the building had to be dismantled in order for a crane to be sited outside the building to lift the goods off a small balcony. This exercise also included the closure of the road to accommodate the crane.
Glass by Hand
An old client calls us to arrange the immediate collection and delivery of a piece of glass worth £10,000 to Amsterdam in order to complete the build of their yacht. The piece of glass in question was 1ft x 3ft. It was cased and hand carried on a plane and delivered personally to the yacht builder.
A Moving Wedding
A client’s daughter was getting married so plans had been made to hold the reception in the client’s St John’s Wood home. We were contracted to remove all the ground floor furniture and store it over the weekend and re-instate it on the Monday. Photographs were taken of every detail and each piece unpacked and placed back exactly where it was before the party.
